Anyone else have a phobia of going to the hairdressers?

Its everything about it. Sitting there looking in the mirror and scared they will cut your hair the wrong wayAnyone else have a phobia of going to the hairdressers?
yes i hate it , i don't go anymore i just leave it grown and then do the forward long layer cut myself... after years of going to diff salons and many tears, they never ever get it right or how u want it ... and they charge u all that money so u can go home and cry !!Anyone else have a phobia of going to the hairdressers?
For many years, I had below waist length hair and was terrified to go for a trim. Now that my hair is shoulder length, I still have a slight anxiety of too much getting cut off or not being able to go home and do anything with it. When my daughter got her long hair cut, I was even more nervous watching her. But the more we went for trims, the better it has gotten.
Yes, I have this phobia, but it's the being touched bit I don't like.

Also having to look at yourself and say great! Even though you don't like it. I do my own hair, and it looks a mess- but I' a man and can get away with it.
Yep! I hate it heaps!

I remember four years ago when I was twelve my hair needed a haircut so we went to a hairdresser and it took her ages to put layers on my hair!

She did a mistake and then she tried to fix it up by cutting more to even it up and when it was finished my beautiful long hair was no longer long! I was so upset!

She had cut 8 cm or something off my hair and I was so upset I never wanted to go to a hairdresser again! lolz!

But luckily I found a new hairdresser two years ago and she is absolutely good! She does whatever you tell her to do and she hasn't made a single mistake!

I'm happy that I can finally trust someone with my hair and not have to worry about a thing!

Anyway I hope this helped :-)

Yes and no. A while back I decided I was going to have my long hair cut . I think it took me over an hour to finally walk through the door ,I was terrified, but once I was seated and caped it was like there was no turning back so I just relaxed and watched in amusement as the stylist chopped it off. When I noticed she had started to go a bit shorter than I first intended I got somewhat nervous again but kinda went with it so she ended up giving me this short barber style cut. Scary , a little, crazy, yes.
I generally hate people touching my hair, If people touch It Ill flip and go on a mad one Lol
I hate going to hairdressers!!! And, if you do happen to get a good haircut, the chances that they can do it again the same way are slim to none. I have let my hair length grow out until I can't stand it anymore, only to take a picture in and have them botch it up. I went in one time with almost shoulder length hair (very straggly) and wanted a long layered look. She cut the hair on top to only about 1 inch long!! How can that be a long layer in anyone's book???

My hair grows very, very slowly, so whatever cut I have, i will have for about 6 months. If it is bad, then it is here to stay for awhile.
Yes! I desperately need a new cut but I'm too terrified to go get it done. The last couple times I went (a long time ago) it was cut either too short, not enough layers, bangs were messed up, etc. I'm scared to go again!
i no a little boy who has phoebia against scissors and wenever he goes to the hairdressers and sees scissors he screams
yes i've been there and it's not a good feeling cause i'm a hairdresser me self and i have seen many just mess around with my hair.and i don't get what i realy want.hell come to me and already know what you want don't leave it to them to make you look good cause it will not work.

good luck.
Yes, I really don't like to do it. Too many bad experiences. Usually it was cut way too short, some of them get really carried away.
i'm a hairstylist who has a serious phobia of going to get my hair done! too funny, huh?

the whole experience , from greeting to paying is one big anxiety attack.

i, personally, do EVERYTHING in my power to make my clients feel COMFORTABLE. (when i go to a salon i feel like cattle.)

i like my clients to feel their hair durring the process; shake their heads to see how the hair lays naturally (so it'll look good doing nothing to it), bring a friend to talk to (because once i get in 'the zone' i don't talk); i also like to PAMPER my clients. in my opinion, it's not too expensive to hand them a warm towel at the beginning of the service and a hand massage at the end. scalp massage durring the shampoo, shoulder massage before styling.

i want to get to know my clients. i want to know how much time they normally spend on their hair - how much time would you LIKE to spend on it? (more or less time).

what's your lifestyle like? what's your personality? let's face it, a lawyer probably doesn't want the striped hilites or funky flippys and a girl with tatoos up her arms and legs probably doesn't want a super sleek, clean, flat hair.
yes i get scared to for exactly the same reason you should ask some one you know that is a hair dresser so you get used to them before they cut your hair
Good yes, for so many years i ust couldn't deal i used to only get my fringe done and trime it myself, seemed safer. after my hair started to look trashed, i researched via the gossip lines (girlfriends) and asked them who they would recommend and why, they ended up getting back to me with rokk ebony salons, they were awesome also i only go to the one stylist so that they get used to my hair and no what i am looking for.

Also let the person know how anxious you are and then suggest they take little bit by little bit off the bottom of your hair instead of taking it all off at once, because that is when mistakes can happen, or when you realise that what you said isn't what you meant.

Be willing to spend money for a good cut because it is something people see EVERY DAY,
I hate going to the hairdressers. I have solved the problem by shaving my head for years, drastic but effective!
Just let it grow A girl with long hair is beautiful
yes everybody gets it from time to time the best thing to do is get a hairstylist recommended and take a good friend with you one who,s not afraid to open their mouth in case you did it
god yes! ive just come back from the hairdressers now and i had to pretend to my mum i loved my new hair but i absoloutly hate it. i hate at the end of the haircut when the hairdresser says is that alright? and i wanted to say No you idiot youve ruined my hair!! but obviously i couldnt so i just smiled and nodded. arghhh i hate the hairdressers!!!!
oh yeh, not that im scared of them cutting it wrong.

they were just really nasty to me!

the yelled at me, pulled my hair really hard, scratched my scalp, gave me the result i didnt want.

gosh they were awful!

so i've been cutting, dyeing, everything myself for years in my bathroom =]

xxxxx
Yeah i hate the part where you have to hand over all that money!!
Yes I do, they never give you the style that you ask for and after a few snips and lots of blow drying they charge you 拢35.
