Whats the best way to get rid of nits i cannot go to hairdressers?

cos i get them off the kids from school and treat them and they come back again.Whats the best way to get rid of nits i cannot go to hairdressers?
After you have done the conditioner and comb and finally got rid of them spray tea tree oil diluted with water in your hair every day. I do this with my daughter and she is the only one in nursery who has never got nits. Otherwise you will have to shave your head like I did to my sons.

Whatever happened to the nit nurses we use to have when I was at school?Whats the best way to get rid of nits i cannot go to hairdressers?
I used an electronic nit comb - you use it on dry hair and it zaps the nits on contact. There's no mess, you use it every day, it only takes a few minutes to use, and you can use it on yourself.

Wash all bedlinen, if you have a bad problem with them, thow out all your pillows and get new ones. Don't forget to wash cushion covers as well, if you have fabric couches, and wash all coats, jackets and clothes in hot water.

Continue to use the 'zapper' for about three weeks, just to be sure. Then use it once a week after that to be sure you're all free of them for good!
Hi!

Lyclear is brilliant stuff!

I gets rid of nits within ten minutes!

Best of luck!
Over the counter treatments don't work !!

Try the good old fashioned way... Nitty Gritty comb, lots of conditioner and spend a good 45 Min's combing the hair !!

Repeat this method at least 3 times a week.

It works for our family

Good luck
try using teatree oil shampoo and conditioner - they dont like it.

Apparently they are becoming immune to the main ingredient in most nit shampoos.
Unfortunately the head lice are becoming increasingly resistant to the common treatments like malathion. Older managements like benzyl benzoate are more toxic but more successful. It is also worth while investing in a decent STEEL nit comb. The problem is currently so great that Sainsbury's are now stocking an excellent one.
My sister has the same problem, shes used every shampoo and herbal remedy known to man i think. They say some nits are now immune to the normal remedies so its time to go back to the nit comb. That or have it all shaved off. Sorry thats a rubbish answer, but its becoming a huge problem in schools.
Just get a good quality nit comb and do it in the morning and at night , for about 2 weeks !!
try going to a pharmacist he can suggest treatments
Shave head. Buy special shampoo. Or liked they used to, shave head and wash hair with kerosine.
Buy some RID (chemical that kills nits),Vaseline all over hair

Its messy,or if boy shave whole head.
use full marks lotion. leave on for 20 mins then comb out with a good nit comb. try to get a metal one. Keep combing for a week afterwards to get out any stray eggs. Once they are all gone use tea tree shampoo and conditioner and a tea tree spray becaue the little cooties hate the stuff and it'll stop u getting them again. Failing that change schools!!!!
First off, you need to treat all of the family members at the same time. Wash all the bedding, stuffed animals, clothes and linens in hot water and use the dryer (dont hang dry). Whatever you cannot wash you need to bag up for 2 weeks. You will also need to spray all of your furniture and mattresses.

When you use the nit shampoo, make sure that you also use the nit comb and after that, check the head for lice and eggs that the comb missed.
wash your hair with white vinigar. it smells but works
