An example. There is a hairdressers that has been open for a very long time, and the property right next door is up for rent, and i want to rent it to open a hairdressers, can i do this legally even if the original hairdresser opposes it?Can 2 business of the same type be right next door to each other, e.g hairdressers?
that would be pretty stupid to do. Chances are you won't get much business if an established hairdresser is already there. for your kind of buisness, you should make sure you have no competition for at least a 2 mile radius, or chances are, there won;t be enough customers to support all the businesses and the newest business is usually the one that fails first - the other places have their regular customers are they are not likely to change stylists. DO NOT rent this place - look for another empty storefront - there are probably lots of them around and then make sure you have no other competition close by or your odds of failure multiply greatlyCan 2 business of the same type be right next door to each other, e.g hairdressers?
Of course.
The only thing stopping you would be the lease between the other shop and the landlord. If the this breaches that lease, the other business can sue him.
