Is there any other way other than going to the hairdressers to strip semi permanent out of your hair?

use a clarifying shampoo.

that strips the dye out.Is there any other way other than going to the hairdressers to strip semi permanent out of your hair?
Washing up liquid will show a difference after a few washes- and this sounds crazy, but soak your hair with tomato ketchup for at least 10 mins, and then wash it off again with washing up liquid. I don't know what it is in the ketchup, but it works (especially for lighter colours).

Make sure you condition it well afterwards! Is there any other way other than going to the hairdressers to strip semi permanent out of your hair?
semi-permanent SHOULD wash out withing a couple of months. Its best to let it wash out as much as possible and not get it stripped. After it fades you can dye over it. Your hair will NEVER be the same color no matter what you do. Be careful not to ruin your hair!!
Go swiming...the chlorine can sometimes removethe perm
Dye over it with something that won't react?
Shave your head?
wash your hair like 20 times. It will prob cost less.
Luckily you said you used semi permanent - so it'll fade out in a couple of weeks.

If you really, really wanna get rid of it you'll have to dye over it with permanent dye. Use a darker shade or if you wanna go lighter use something with bleach in it to life the semi permanent out.
well paint thinner works fine gettin hair dye off of skin so it may work with hair, i don't know if it will have any other effect. it wouldnt bleach it but it may make it dry.
Below are instructions I found on vogue forums a while ago when I had the same dilemma. The instructions where written by the forums then resident hair guru (she is a qualified hair dresser)

I used the natural olive oil method to strip a darkest brown dye out of my hair successfully, I had no damage to my hair, it was just a bit poofy %26amp; fluffy after using the clarifying shampoo.

Get a gutsy clarifying shampoo like ';PPS PURE CLEANSE SHAMPOO'; %26amp; add 20 ml of 10 vol cream peroxide to 1 tablespoon of shampoo apply to dry hair adding just enough water to build up a lather ,cover with plastic %26amp; leave for 30 minutes rinse thoroughly %26amp; shampoo again with a moisture shampoo this should lift the remaining mousse colour out without killing your hair.

Totally natural option is my old potion of Olive Oil- On dry hair saturate with warmed olive oil as warm as you can stand in the palms of your hands *I heat the oil for 30 seconds in the microwave in a china dish* be careful NOT to burn yourself after it's all through your hair wrap in plastic for 30 minutes it helps to wear a beanie to keep the heat in.

When the time is up add little by little a clarifying shampoo to make a lather %26amp; rinse- than re-apply the clarifying shampoo (you should see some colour lifting out in the lather) again with the plastic wrap this time heat with a blow dryer for 10 minutes %26amp; wait another 10 minutes than rinse well %26amp; add a deep moisture treatment with some violet pigmented conditioner this should do the trick without killing your hair it may be a bit dry but nothing chemical so it is gentle yet effective.

Try ';thinning'; your hair.

By taking a razor and just going through your hair.

Washing it many times.

Or by just dying again.
If you are going to color your hair again you could just bleach it out.

You can by hair bleach at any drug store.

However, if you'd like to strip out the color without further damaging your hair by yet another chemical there are a few home remedies, one of which I have used SUCESSFULLY.

The first method, which I have personally experienced and was pleased with was:

USE HOT OIL TREATMENTS. ** I didn't have any hot oil treatments lying around in my house so I used extra virgin olive oil and heated that up, worked like a charm!

Another method would be to use vinegar! Let the vinegar sit for about 10 minutes and then wash out. This will strip the color from your hair, and if you are not happy with the outcome, repeat a few more times, however not in the same day. Note though: make sure you do not apply the vinegar treatment until after 24 hours of coloring your hair because if you do itany earlier the vinegar and chemical in hair products will react.. slighting changing the color of your hair rather than stripping it.

The main thing you should know is that HEAT will strip color.

Good luck!!
yes there proberbly will be and i bet people have suggested things however i think you should go to the hairdressers because its safe, what if your hair goes funny or falls out trust me i have had experience of this :)
