is it a good idea to put a shop bought colour on the top?Any advice if you have excessively blonde highlights after a trip to the hairdressers?
shave it all off...Any advice if you have excessively blonde highlights after a trip to the hairdressers?
no. itlll dry your hair out and have a silvery tone to it!!!
Oh god, that just happened to me on a trip to the US. I had my hair cut and asked for highlights. They came out as huge VERY blonde chunks. I was stupid and went out and bought some over the counter colour and did my hair in the hotel. Apparently it's a very bad idea to colour your hair soon after the highlighting process because even though I used a dark brown, my entire head lightened to a copper colour. What a disaster.
Based on my experience, I'd recommend calling the hair salon and telling them that the highlights came out lighter than you expected and ask them what they think you should do. They might even offer to bring you back in for free to keep you happy. It's worth a shot. But you might have to wait a couple of weeks until the hair product is rinsed out of your hair and it's safe to colour again. :(
DON'T GO THERE AGAIN
go bak
either to complain...
or get new ones
Now why would you want to do that?
NO! i wouldnt do that because first off shop bought color is cheap and there are a tonn of different colors of blond..however if you want your highlights to last and not to fade i would deffintly recommend to brand of shapoos and condioner call ';pureology';
its a little expensive but works great!! i have had my hair highlighted a lot..over the past like couple years and ive tried like everything to make my highlights last and this is the best stuff ive ever had...
This may sound strange but I had a friend who swore by it. After having her hair dyed peroxide blonde she would use a silver grey dye mousse from boots to take the colour down a shade or two.
Its the wash out one so if it doesnt work for you , no lasting damage done.
you should go back and insist they redye it for you. i know it sounds bitchy but you paid for a certain color, and you didn't get it. they will only get lighter with the sun so you need to do something quick. this happened to my friend once, she went back and they put a darker blonde wash over her hair. it looked much better
NO! you could end up with a either no shine, or green or orange hair.
Go back to the salon and have them put a toner on it. Toners keep hair shiny and tame bright highlights..your hair dresser can pick out the right shade so you don't get muddy or brassy hair.
Ask for a different and experienced stylist from the same salon to fix it. If you don't want to see your hairdresser ask to come in on her day off.
No don't put any colour on top it could react - go back to the hairdressers if they are reputable they will fix it for you
Yes don't go back to the hairdressers that did it. You could put a shop bought colour over the top but i would not recommend it straight away i would leave it 2 or 3 weeks first.
probably not id recommend goin bac t ur hair dressers and gettin them to darken some of the high lights
go back and tell your stylist what shade you were going for and the one you have just isnt working. Get a glaze, this a demi-permanant toner that should give your hilights a shine and the color you want out of them. If your stylist is a keeper, this will not be a problem.
I would not dream of putting some cheap unpredictable dye in my hair. If you cannot live with the excessive highlights go back and ask for something different. You need to express your unhappiness to your hairdresser, after all you are a walking advertisement for them. Good luck
