How do hairdressers ';thin out'; hair?

I have super super thick hair and would like it to be a lot thinner.

What do the hairdressers actually do when they thin out your hair?

Will it look weird and will I still be able to do the same hairstyles with it done? (ponytail, down, pig tails, braids, ect..)How do hairdressers ';thin out'; hair?
To thin out hair, hair dressers use a special comb with a blade in it called a razor comb. When they use it, it normally causes layers so you will not have your hair all the same length. But don't worry layers look really nice. You can still wear it in the styles you want too.

Hope I helped ;)How do hairdressers ';thin out'; hair?
They use thinning shears. I actually have a pair and when i thin out my hair i do it very carefully. You will absolutely be able to do everything you want to it just i think itll make it alot easier for you to do if it was thinned out. Alot of mistakes people make are when they THINK there hair is SUPER thick its actually not, the actual STRAND of hair is thin, theres just ALOT of strands which gives your hair the illusion that its super thick :] go see a hair dresser thats pretty good and ask her if she thinks your hair is super thick or you just have alot of hair. Also, making sure you tell her not to thin it out to the point where its realllllly FLAT to your head and oilly looking is important, as some hair dressers thin it out tooo much and it looks very flat to the head and oily! Good Luck!
